University professor with over 45 years of experience in indigenous communities´ development projects in the Amazon basin. Former Congressman and President of the Peruvian Amazon Research Institute (IIAP) and the National Institute of Traditional Medicine (INMETRA). Holds a degree in Biology from the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo in Trujillo-Peru and a MSc in Ecology from Southern Illinois University at Carbodale, IL.
